As the wonderful warm weather continues and the school holidays get in full swing, with Central London just a short car journey from Hoddesdon and Enfield, we thought we’d save you some time by sharing 5 slightly different things to do in London this summer.
1. Relax & reflect
With so much to see and do in our bustling capital city, it can all become a bit too much sometimes. So, why not get out in the fresh air and visit one of London’s beautiful green spaces? Not only are they completely free to visit, you may discover areas you’ve never been before! High on our recommendation list is Postman’s Park, a short stroll north of St Paul’s Cathedral. As one of London’s’ most peaceful parks, Home of The Watts Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice, this serene shaded garden is an ideal place to relax and reflect.
2. ‘Life In the Dark’
‘Life In The Dark’ is a new exhibition at the Natural History Museum, located in Kensington. Displaying the 5 weirdest animals on show in London this summer, this intriguing exhibition explores the weird and wonderful world of animals that spend their entire lives in the darkest depths of the world. With many other fun activities and exhibitions to get involved in, the Silent Disco to be held on 31st August also looks like a curious alternative summertime activity to investigate.
3. The ultimate film experience
For a film experience with a difference, head on down to the Rooftop Film Club this summer. Get ready for spine-tingling panoramic views of the city, entwined with breath-taking sunsets and hand-picked iconic movies. Choose from the Bussey Building in Peckham, the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch or Roof East in Stratford for the ultimate outside cinema experience.
4. Visit London’s highest garden
Forget the Shard or the London Eye, instead make your way over to 20 Fenchurch Street. Here you’ll find the stunning Skygarden, which is absolutely free to enter. Particularly popular with photography enthusiasts, you’ll understand why as you explore this unique inside garden set over floors 35,36 and 37 at the top of the building. Simply book in advance, to add another favourite view of London to your list!
